Country of origin Australian One-Sheet film poster for the 1981 re-release of Mad Max (1979) displaying striking black-and-white imagery of Mel Gibson as Max offset against a bright blue background. The film was intended to have a limited advance release in Australia, with small quantities of orange-coloured One-Sheets being printed in limited quantities. However, the film later received a more significant release due to its popularity. This was when purple versions and blue versions were created and distributed. The example offered in this lot is from a later third printing run (most likely 1980/81), identified as it is missing the MAPS printer’s credit in the lower right corner. An extremely collectable and rare film poster.
