The Clash 1979 London Calling Epic Records Promo Poster.

£2,450.00

The Clash 1979 London Calling Epic Records Promo Poster. An oversized, original promo poster for the Clash’s double-LP, released in 1979. Featuring an out-of-focus shot of bassist Paul Simonon smashing a guitar (and cribbing the font from Elvis Presley’s self-titled album), this is one of the most iconic album covers of all time. Has “OP-36328″ printed near the bottom right corner.

At 19 tracks over four vinyl LP sides, the Clash redefined what their sound was. No longer just a punk band with reggae influences, they showed their rockabilly, dancehall, and folk sides. Blasting off on turntables all over the world with its opening title track, the Clash showed they were destined to bigger things.

Measures 44 ½” x 42″. Rolled. In Very Good condition having been restored onto linen
