The romance and intrigue of the city is brought to life through this image, filled with possibilities. American Airlines is a major airline based in Fort Worth, Texas. The company was founded in 1926 as a union of more than eighty small airlines and is the world’s largest airline. American Airlines is a founding member of Oneworld Alliance, the largest airline alliance in the world. Through this partnership they are able to coordinate fares and services with Airlines around the world. In 2001, they acquired the well-known Transatlantic Airlines. They still operate today out of ten major hubs in the United States. Fred Ludekens (1900-1982) began his career as billboard painter before joining the Lord & Thomas advertising agency in 1931. Ludekens worked in a variety of media, and specialized in landscapes. He produced artwork and covers for all the major magazines of the time. He was a member of the founding faculty for the Famous Artists School, an art correspondence course founded by Norman Rockwell and other members of the New York Society of Illustrators.
