This film was based on Tennessee Williams’ Pulitzer Prize-winning play of the same name. It was directed by Richard Brooks, and stars Elizabeth Taylor and Paul Newman, who were both nominated for Oscars.
Ercole Brini has stylishly captured the two main characters in his visually strong artwork for this poster.
This Italian poster was printed on two sheets and was designed to be pasted onto billboards. As a result only unused examples have survived, and very few are known to have surfaced.
The poster had various issues prior to retsoration and has been magnificently restored onto linen and diplays very well.
