Cruise Cat – 1952 – Animation
Bruce Willis Owned One Sheet Poster from Cruise Cat – of the most successful comedy teams in film history. Tom and Jerry were created by famed animators William Hanna and Joseph Barbera in 1940 for the short Puss Gets the Boot. The short was a hit, receiving an Academy Award Nomination and Hanna and Barbera were tasked with creating more adventures of the cat and mouse duo. In this hysterical short, Tom is the official cat on a cruise ship, threatened with expulsion if the captain finds even one mouse. Of course that mouse is Jerry. Full size posters for individual Tom & Jerry film titles are very rare as print runs for a three minute cartoon were small and distribution was limited. Linen-backed, there are signs of restoration and touchups to “Tom” lettering and fold-wear, bleed-through from a stamp on the back, all borders trimmed; A “Letter of Authenticity” signed by Bruce Willis will accompany this lot. From the Collection of Bruce Willis.
