Goldfinger (United Artists, 1964). Very Fine on Linen. British Quad (30″ X 40″) Style B.
For Bond collectors, this Style B country-of-origin British quad is a rare find indeed. This more conservative artwork for the film was produced primarily for Ireland, as their censorship regulations made the more provocative Style A unusable and would have assuredly been painted over for use in that country. Designed by Robert Brownjohn, who was also responsible for the great opening credit sequence, this is one of the more rare British posters for the film. Sean Connery and Honor Blackman are superimposed over the golden hand of Shirley Eaton, arguably a more menacing image than what is found on the style A quad. So scarce that it is making its 1st appearance at VMA, this poster has had professional corrections to light edge and fold wear, a crease in the image, and slight surface wear. Very Fine on Linen.
