Good, The Bad & The Ugly – Italian 1p

£1,395.00

An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Italian One-Panel (known in Italy as a “2 Fogli”) Movie Poster (1p; measures 39″ x 55″ [99 x 140 cm])

Il Buono, il Brutto, il Cattivo (released in the U.S. in 1968 as “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly”), the classic 1966 Sergio Leone German/Italian/Spanish Civil War cowboy spaghetti western (“For Three Men The Civil War Wasn’t Hell. It Was Practice!”; “Screenplay by Age-Scarpelli, Luciano Vincenzoni and Sergio Leone”) starring Clint Eastwood (in the title role as The Good), Lee Van Cleef (in the title role as The Bad), Eli Wallach (in the title role as The Ugly; billed as “also starring Eli Wallach in the role of Tuco”), Aldo Giuffre, Mario Brega, Antonio Casas, Rada Rassimov, Aldo Sambrel, Enzo Petito, Luigi Pistilli, Livio Lorenzon, Al Mulloch, Sergio Mendizabal, Molino Rojo, and Lorenzo Robledo

Note that there is a small white flower in Eli Wallach’s mouth! Sometimes, people look at a small image of this poster and think it is some sort of defect, but it is actually part of the image, and when seen in person, it is clearly a flower he is chewing on!

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had small tears and tiny paper loss on parts of the folds, with tape stains and pinholes in the corners, with some pinholes, small tears, and tiny paper loss in the borders. It had paper loss in the right 5 1/2″ of the top blank border (only blank white paper was neatly trimmed off). Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well!
