Peter Benchley’s best-selling novel served as the basis for director Steven Spielberg’s terrifying motion picture about a great white shark terrorizing an island resort town in New England. This Oscar-winning thriller, starring Roy Scheider, Robert Shaw, and Richard Dreyfuss, took such a big bite out of the box office that it was followed by three sequels. This memorable image of the deadly shark and Susan Backlinie by artist Roger Kastel is one of the most famous images of any film of the last forty years, making this British crown collector favorite. Prior to restoration, the poster displayed very minor fold wear and some subtle staining to the upper middle and right interior. Light touchup was applied to the folds with minimal airbrush application to parts of the upper white interior.
