La Dolce Vita (Cineriz, 1960). Italian 4 – Fogli (55″ X 77.5″) Style B.
The dizzying chases and dreamlike meanderings through the Via Veneto in Rome have become some of the most iconic images in all of cinema. Federico Fellini’s masterpiece is a groundbreaking allegory of life itself, showcasing, in a visually striking manner, the randomness of love, tragedy, fame, and lust. Fellini filmed this picture at the dawning of the 1960s, ushering in the style, freedom, and experimentation that defined the decade. Marcello Mastroianni stars as a jaded reporter who is entranced by movie star Anita Ekberg and struggles to find meaning in his life. Paper for this title is highly prized, and this very rare, country of origin, style B 4-foglio is perhaps the hardest piece to come by. The poster is called the “Cafe Style” and features gorgeous images of Mastroianni, Ekberg, Anouk Aimee, Yvonne Furneaux, Magali Noel and Walter Santesso. Prior to linen backing it showed slight fold wear, light creasing, and staple holes in the borders and interior. There were stains in the title area, and the poster displays some mild toning on both panels. However, these issues have been sorted out and did little to detract from the impact of this very special poster. On linen in fantastic condition
