PINOCCHIO – US Insert – Rare Disney first release!

An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Insert Movie Poster (measures 14″ x 36″ [36 x 91 cm])

Walt Disney’s Pinocchio, the classic 1940 Hamilton Luske & Ben Sharpsteen Walt Disney animated animation puppet cartoon musical fantasy adventure (“Hi-Diddle Dee Dee!”; “Full length feature production”; “Jiminy Cricket – what a show!”; “In Multiplane Technicolor”; about a lonely puppet maker who makes a wooden marionette of a little boy, and then a fairy brings him to life and he has great adventures) featuring the voices of Dickie Jones (in the title role as Pinocchio), Cliff Edwards (as Jiminy Cricket), Christian Rub (as Gepetto), Evelyn Venable (as the Blue Fairy), Mel Blanc (uncredited as Gideon), Walter Catlett (as J. Worthington Foulfellow), Frankie Darro (as Lampwick), and Charles Judels (as Stromboli)

Note that we have only previously seen three examples of this 1940 first release insert, and the last one was 5 years ago, when it sold for $7,509! Many collectors consider this poster to have a better image than that of either first release one-sheet, but of course, that is subjective. It certainly will look great on the new owner’s wall!

Condition: Very good. The insert had separation in the left 3″ of the middle fold, and someone put paper tape on the back of that area. Prior to resto/backing, it has creases and tiny bits of paper loss on parts of the folds, with tiny paper loss in the upper left blank border and the lower right blank border. It had 1″ of separation at the right of the top fold. There were pinholes in the top blank border. Other than the above, the poster was in really nice condition, and the colors are bright and fresh! Now restored, it absolutely pings and would look amazing up on any wall!
