The Postman Always Rings Twice – One Sheet

£3,950.00

The Postman Always Rings Twice (MGM, 1946). One Sheet (27″ X 41″).(860)

James M. Cain's shocking crimer told a gritty story of a drifter who starts work in a diner and soon begins an affair with the owner's wife. The dissatisfied hussy decides that her husband needs his ticket punched, and turns to the drifter to do the dirty work for her. Lana Turner, a platinum blonde bombshell, was cast as the insatiable wife, and John Garfield was the man who drifted into her irresistible charms. Although the novel was written in 1934, MGM had to wait till 1946 before they were allowed to make such a dark film. Always in high demand, this dramatic one sheet has been restored to address a small tear beneath Turner's eye, fold wear, and tears and small chips in the borders and folds. It has also been backed to linen, making it ready to shine in any collection.
