Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster was never folded. It had staining and small paper loss in the bottom 8″ of the right border, extending into the white background. It had small paper loss and a 4″ horizontal tear in the lower right border, extending into the white area. It also had tears, stains, and small paper loss in the lower left border, almost entirely contained within the white area. Otherwise, the poster was in nice condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster “in the European style”, meaning that they did little restoration to the defects described above.
