For a few Dollars More – Italian 1 Fogli (RR)

£4,995.00

A 1971 Re-Release Theatrical Linenbacked Italian One-Panel (known in Italy as a “2 Fogli”) Movie Poster (1p; measures 39″ x 55″ [99 x 140 cm])

Per Qualche Dollaro in Piu (released in the U.S. in 1967 as “For a Few Dollars More”), the classic 1965 Sergio Leone German/Italian/Spanish cowboy spaghetti western sequel (“The man with no name is back! The man in black is waiting…”; “It’s the second motion picture of its kind! It won’t be the last!”; “The man with no name is back! The man in black is waiting… A walking arsenal – he uncoils, strikes and kills!”) starring Clint Eastwood (as Monco), Lee Van Cleef (as Col. Mortimer), Gian Maria Volonte, Mara Krupp (billed as “Mara Krup”), Luigi Pistilli, Klaus Kinski (as Juan Wild, the Hunchback), Joseph Egger (billed as “Josef Egger”), Panos Papadopulos, Benito Steffanelli, Roberto Camardiel, Aldo Sambrell, Luis Rodriguez, and Mario Brega. Note that this movie was released in December of 1965 (no doubt to qualify for awards), but most of the Italian posters from the first release are dated 1966. This same situation exists with La Dolce Vita and many other classic movies.

Artist: Rodolfo Gasparri

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had paper loss in the top blank corners and in two areas in the top blank border, with one slightly touching the top of the “A” of “EASTWOOD”. It also had some small tears and tiny paper loss on parts of the folds and some pinholes, tears, stains, and some paper loss in the rest of the blank borders. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
