JAMES BOND: DR. NO (1962) – On Set Contact Sheet Limited Edition Print by Frank Herrmann

£3,995.00

Sunday Times Staff photographer Frank Herrmann was sent to Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire on March 22nd, 1962, to capture the moment Sean Connery met with James Bond’s creator Ian Fleming. The first of the hugely successful series. Herrmann was allowed to stay and record the action sequences for the final scenes being filmed that day. These scenes and the Connery and Fleming meeting are recorded on the contact sheet here. Before digital cameras, a roll of 36 photographs would be processed to produce a strip of negatives. These negatives would be developed, fixed and dried to make a’positive’ set of images on photographic paper, allowing easy reference for choosing which photographs to use. Printed on Hahnemuhle Photo Rag 308gsm fine art paper, each print is embossed with the photographer’s stamp, signed and hand-numbered #8/10.
